September 15, 2008: Two "maximalist" paintings by Grant Wiggins have been selected to exhibit at the Foundry Art Centre in St. Charles, Mo., in the juried exhibition Painting.
Painting will be on display from Friday, Oct. 10 through Nov. 21, 2008. It is billed as "a juried exhibition celebrating the art of painting," where "traditional or experimental styles" are welcome. Artist Ron Thomas is the show's juror.
The two paintings by Wiggins in the show are: The Acid Rain Falls Mainly on the Acid Plain (2007, acrylic on canvas, 20 x 16 inches) and Where Is Gibarian? (2008, acrylic on canvas, 21 x 16 inches).
The Foundry Art Centre is a not-for-profit fine arts gallery overlooking the Missouri River, in the Frenchtown district of historic St. Charles, Missouri. The Foundry features a Smithsonian-caliber art gallery hosting national juried exhibitions as well as 20 working artist studios, where visitors can watch the creative process and buy art directly from the artists.
