At reZurrection Gallery, in Tempe, Arizona — August 3 - 28, 2001
Packed into a modest gallery in the back of a vintage modern furniture store, just beyond the disco-ball beaded curtain, was this odd compliation of neo pop art paintings. This was my second solo show; yet, reZurrection was the first gallery I had approached with my work.
This show was as "out there" as I could make it at the time. One of the cooler elements was a 15-minute guided audio tour (narrated by my friend George Stone, as the voice of Rolmaz Guffoffatron), which visitors could listen to on Walkmans. Meantime, source material (detergent boxes, etc.) offered context on judiciously placed pedestals. Black and blue artificial turf hugged the floor. The only thing that Treasures from the Xerxes Nebula was missing was a dry ice machine!
